A few questions:
Can I pair both sets to the Zumo? Or just one and the intercom between?
Can have the intercom between them and one paired with the Zumo 550 and the other to an Ipod?

Can these use the earbud jack I've heard mentioned with the 10's?

Thanks!

You can only pair one headset to a Zumo at a time. You always can have intercom from headset to headset.

Yes.

The SMH5 does not offer an earbud option - that's only on the SMH10

Please feel free to call us during the week if we can help, 877.533.4245.

...

Some quick questions if i may...

- Does the SMH5 have micro-USB charging port on the module for charging via Cigratte socket on the go?
- Does the SMH5 have a build-in Audio Input Socket for the 3.5mm Audio Cable?
- The Sena Bluetooth 3.5mm Stereo Audio Cable is a separate purchase for the SMH5?
(just to confirm, I didn't see this item listed at the "Kit Content" page)
- Large speakers already available for the SMH5?

Thanks for answering!
nat

Hi Nat:

Here ya' go...
- Does the SMH5 have micro-USB charging port on the module for charging via Cigratte socket on the go?
Yes.

- Does the SMH5 have a build-in Audio Input Socket for the 3.5mm Audio Cable?
No. Only the SMH10 has the audio input socket.

- The Sena Bluetooth 3.5mm Stereo Audio Cable is a separate purchase for the SMH5?
(just to confirm, I didn't see this item listed at the "Kit Content" page)
Yes, separate purchase. No audio input socket, so Sena doesn't include this audio lead.

- Large speakers already available for the SMH5?
These aren't available from Sena, yet. Yes, they're on Sena's website, but there are no parts to be had.

Thank you for the offer Adam. Since everything is now working and installed, I'll just wait until the upgraded speakers are available and then swap out the headset unit for some better audio.

I've never used these types of headsets so pardon my ignorance. But can you pair BOTH and separately a phone and a two way radio adapter like the camos one via Bluetooth? And then still talk via bluetooth to two headsets, so be connected to three different items in other words?

Also, I usually ride with etymotic earbuds and a shoei hornet. Has anyone moved from earbuds to molded plugs with speakers and still enjoyed listening to music, or is there just to much wind noise to do that?

Yes - you can pair a phone and the Sena SR10 two-way radio adapter at the same time. BUT - some phones have issues with multi-pairing, so it's not an exact science. The Camos BTA and BTA-R use the headset Bluetooth profile, so you would not be able to pair that and 'music side' of a mobile phone or MP3 player at the same time.

I would go with the Sena SR10 if you want to do a 2-way radio, rather than the Camos BTA (We have the BTA's in stock, by the way - just not yet on the website). The SR10 is a clean solution - and it works!

With regards to molded ear plugs, if these have filters to pass speech you're probably OK - everyone's hearing is different. Without the speech filters, the molded plugs are likely to block too much sound. If you like your Etymotic's or plan to use molded *earbuds*, you'll want to go with the SMH10, rather than SMH5. SMH5 does not offer a clamp kit for earbuds.

No worries, thanks for that. How is the noise cancelling with these at the mic? This is the achilles for most units. Not sure if there is any noise cancelling. Like at 100kph on a motorway sort of thing. Webbikeworld was talking up the Uclear units on this sort of thing and I'm not sure if Sena uses similar technology.

The noise reduction is pretty darn good. The mic technology is conventional, where the UClear is boom-less. Honestly, we weren't impressed with the UClear UC100 at all. The 200 may be better - we'll have to see.

The reviews on the SMH5 are very good and our customers seem pleased - they're a very solid value for the money.

That's interesting. How would you compare it at highway speeds to like making a phone call in the street?

The Sena mic with their noise reduction circuitry, I would say, is better than making a regular call on a noisy street. A lot depends on the helmet you have, whether you have a windscreen, and such. Dual sport helmets tend to be noisy, and open face helmets are noisier than full face types. A bike with a windscreen can be quieter than one without - but this is not always the case.

If you want to make a phone call and have it as quiet as if you were in your living room, only an Autocom wired system will do that.

Talking 2 Headsets, 1 MP3

Any chance you know if I can pair a single MP3 player with BOTH headsets at once? Want to be able to listen to the same tunes as my passenger! Thanks. Looks like a nice product at a GREAT price!

Never mind... Found the answer on FAQs @ Sena's website. They say that the SMH10 CANNOT pair one MP3 to 2 headsets, so I'm going to assume the same goes for the SMH5... too bad. And since the SMH5 has no aux (wired) music port, I guess it'll be separate tunes! Which could be a good thing when I ride w/ my teen daughter!

Keith:

You will be able to share music with the Sena SM10 dual stream BT adapter. We should have these mid-July if everything lines up. The SM10 will take in 2 audio sources, prioritize them and send those to two headsets.

Make sense?
