F650GS Front Wheel Removal

I have a 2010 F650GS and I want to install the fork gaiters I bought from Wunderlich.

I have two questions for you all:

1) From experience, what is the best way to suport the bike (before removing the front wheel)?

2) Is there enough ground clearance, with the wheel removed, to drop out the forks?

I have a center stand, but unlike the boxers I've owned, the F650GS feels REALLY front heavy. I assume that I can't just remove the wheel and expect the bike to balance on the rear wheel and center stand.

I look forward to your feedback.
