Love your Vimeo...watched it over and over. The music makes it incredible.

Y'all need to click on Maverick's Vimeo link http://vimeo.com/30712785 and crank up the volume on your computer if you have a good speaker system. It almost brings a tear...

I have no update on Kawi-Mike and Mrs. Mike.
I have sent them a PM but I don't think they will be surfing the web for a few days.
They joined us at the 63 MM, we spoke briefly, they joined in at the back of the pack.

We were riding safe and seeing lots of enforcement activity but not much wildlife. I had seen only one deer in a hundred miles.
When we exited the Skyline to the parking lot, they were missing.
Matt had gone back to see whats up.
As we sat in the parking lot, maybe 10 minutes...an ambulance came off 64, quickly followed by another, and then some of us followed them back up the Drive.
The ranger at the gate confirmed there had been a moto accident 2 miles up.
At the scene:
He and She were down on the west edge of the road in the care of EMTs.
There was a grassy clearing on the east side of the road for safe parking and staging.
Traffic was stopped, the Bike moved to the grassy area and on its stand.
Officer on the scene had all the details and confirmed that the bike would be taken to impound. We offered to assist but they had a well rehersed process.
EMTs had He and She preped, stablized and on the road in about 20 minutes.
3rd hand speculation:
A deer took them out. They were the last of a string of 6 bikes.
All things considered:
Help was quick. A couple on Harleys heading north made the first calls. Cell phones worked. Medical facilities nearby. The accident was at the end of the Drive.
I hope they are doing ok. I'll update if I hear anything.
Our thoughts and prayer are with them.
Ed

the rest of the day

Intersting day of Pain and Pleasure.

The pain... look above.

The pleasure....

Nice report! Draley and thanks for leading after lunch ride.
A full day of riding.
NOVA started with 5, added a 6th. Got to Devil's Backbone at 12:30ish.
after the trail ride, I refreshed and refueled then decided to head back to Leesburg.
Duh... 324 miles at the end of the driveway at 9 PM.
I just think of it as adversity training. Still drinking water.
The bugs after dark reminded me of the "love bugs" of North Florida.

Good company and good riding.
Now you know where you were on the Hottest day of the year.

We'll do this again.
Thanks to All.
Ed

Just got home a little while ago, and I'm starting to sort through my pictures. Once sorted, and uploaded I'll probably be putting together a little ride reports under the Day Trippin' thread; don't worry I'll post up a link once I get it started. Just give me a little time, I only took 354 pictures!

To Ed, and anyone else involved in putting this thing together, THANK YOU! Had a blast these last couple of days, and this event was the perfect excuse/destination. A big Thank You to my buddy Steve for joining up with me on Friday and showing me some great roads/trails down southwestern VA. Another big Thank You to Alan (I think I remembered your name correctly, but I could be wrong) on the DR650 for relaying the info to the rest of the group that we were continuing down to the end of Shoe Creek. It was great to see friends and meet some new people. To the two injured riders, while I've never met you, I feel for you and wish you both a quick and speedy recovery.

Condition Report

I am exchanging emails with Jema. (Mrs.Kawi)
She is home and will fully recover in a few weeks.
Mike is not at home and will not be for a few weeks but should recover fully.
They realize that it was freak event and will carry on.
I've told her we are at her disposal.

Keep thinking good thoughts.

Thank you, good sir.

We hoped to make several riding videos, and actually we spent a bit of time on the day of the Cattle Call looking for hardware to do just that.

That CO trip was awesome.

Glad Kawi-Mike and the Mrs. are going to be alright!
