You'll learn how to.....
If you buy a Ural & actually ride it enough, you will learn the difference between a rachet & a hatchet, but you'll also need both. That's why the thing has such a big trunk.
Oh & your left (wave) hand will get stronger from returning the near constant openning waves you'll be getting from all types of people, even LEOs. |

Yeah but that's true with ANY sidecar, I know I've had a Ural and I get the same reaction with my new rig.

Oh goody,
A new thread for the same people to say the same thing. Anybody feel a merge coming? But since we're being silly, Urals rule, customs drool.

Yes, once "Lucky" and his sidekick discovers this new thread, I am sure he will be over here sh*tting all over everyone.

Funny, I read the other thread and came away thinking that a Ural might not be so bad as a fun, "buzz around town with the dog bike." I wouldn't buy a new one, but something older, cheap and in need of TLC might be a fun hobby bike.

Why you should buy a Ural
Why not?
![]() But seriously, if you need to be "convinced" to buy anything, perhaps it's not for you. Do YOUR research. You'll find good and bad. Make YOUR judgement and spend (or not spend) YOUR money. Me? I am happy with my 1997/2008 FrankenUral. Bokad? Quite the opposite You? Only one way to find out... |

Oh, and the fact that I busted the crank, front bearing, wrist pin clip (again, got that one figured out this time) and the whole rebuild is costing me about 100$, doesn't hurt the love affair at all.

Part of the reason I got one was to expand my wrenching knowledge and experience.
And it has.
