To me its more that if you are buying "bespoke" shouldn't the builder be able to apply for a "builder's title" for a custom motorcycle? I doubt very much that all those custom chopper bikes have epa complaince tags. Not that I care, its the aesthetics that are not hitting the marks anyhow. |

I can't see much of a market for any of these bikes (the new ones, that is).
Anyone who knows what a board tracker looks like will find these sadly lacking in design cohesion and eye appeal. The performance level is so low as to exclude most every motorcyclist. The price will be too high for newbies looking at Chinese scootertoys to be tempted. Not that an acceptable board track style bike can't be built (such as "The Flying Merkin"), but they will be custom (bespoke, as P B G correctly puts it), and THEY would be welcome in "Old's Cool", yes? |

I still think the next big thing will be street trackers.

That's what it seems like to me. Lots of local dudes have ditched cafe racers and are now riding street trackers. That's fine with me, I like street trackers more than I ever tolerated cafe racers.

Well, criticism, especially of the negative variety, is always hard to hear, but we always like to know what people think. I might point out that this release is a bit premature, as we haven't even released pictures of the bike on our own website, however, it is interesting to hear responses from a forum like this. I would also point out that this is not intended, in the first place to be replica, or anything to do with a board tracker in the second. The idea is to build a very simple, light-weight, practical, repairable-by-the-owner motorcycle with a flavor of early record breakers and to do as much manufacturing as possible here in the States. We love light-weight, small displacement bikes and have been customizing them for customers for the last 8 years. We wanted to make something available to other riders like ourselves and create some jobs in northern Indiana while we are at it. Sorry if this is in the wrong forum.

Don't let the criticism get you down.
It's a good first effort. A few tweaks to the look and you'll have a winner. |
