Yes. But fortunately it has more as well. Would have been a lot of money just for better

I followed one for awhile. Rider did OK but was working hard to stay upright!

Also bike was very hard to get up on a plane from a standing start.

After selling my Smc last month I have been looking for a suitable 12' Enduro R. Today I was offered a x-demo with 500 km. The interesting bit is that it is fitted with evo 2 cam and filter plus the Akra pipe and properly set up on the dyno. It also comes with sm wheels.

I have tried different tire pressures without any improvement. I doubt the vibration is related to tires or suspension settings though as the higher frequency vibes are evident at idle and increase with engine rpm in every gear, they are not directly linked with speed. I have not noticed significant changes in the vibes when switching between different maps, so I am less inclined to think the engine is the cause, especially after checking the mount bolts.

Cheers.

Superplush is now making stainless shock collars for the 690e. Even the '08.

I'm not sure if its on the website yet.

So, today for the first time I got a big backfire on my 690. Immediately died and wouldn't start. i knew right away what the problem was since it has been talked about here recently. Blew off the boot on the throttle body. Just wanted to say thanks to you 690 "whiners" for keeping me from sweating my ass off today and making short work of getting my bike back up and running.

We have built 5 2012 690 Enduro R Rally-Raid Adventure conversions so far,but the last bike blew the throttle body off after 20 miles, and there have been a few cases of this problem in the UK.This is not something we have seen since the 690 Enduro was launched in 08.

Upon investigation we found that with the bike with the TB problem,it was possible to rotate the TB on the inlet stub of the cylinder head, even when the hose clips on the rubber connector were tightened fully. With the other bikes, this was not the case. The bike was checked for any problems with FI,valve timing,TPS and ignition timing problems, but all were found to be OK.

The hose clips have a short steel spacer between the ears,to stop the screw being overtightened, and act as a stop, once we cut this 5mm spacer in half,it allowed the hose clip to be tightened enough to stop the rotation. It was only needed on the cylinder side hose clip. After doing this we had no problems with the TB blowing off.

We have mentioned this to KTM UK,who have a '12 bike in their workshop, along with their own press bike, which both have this "issue" that they are aware of,and are looking into it.

We are going to check the older 654cc engines to see if the inlet stubs on the cylinder heads have changed in diameter, compared to the new 690 Duke engine,or if the rubber sleeve has changed in inner diameter, athough it is the same part no. for all 690 Enduro since new,but they may have changed supplier, which might have caused a tolerance shift in the part, this has happened before with different suppliers manufacturing the same part.
We will keep members informed of any further developments here in the UK

Mines an '08 with 26K miles on it. Like I said, 1st time this has happened. I'd just filled up with gas, as I left the gas station and turned a corner, I rolled on the throttle and it backfired.
