Got back from the European Zed Rally (40 years of the Zed) in Germany - I travelled over 1200 miles on my Z1000 with no problems at all, apart from 2 ltrs of oil........ it was great to be amongst over 1200 Zeds ......
![]() Just picking up another Z900 for my collection...... needs a bit of TLC but I've got forks, wheels, seat, 4:1, etc..... ![]()

Thats a pretty nice looking KZ... I wouldnt change a thing. I had a chance to buy my first KZ back about 15 years after I sold it. Sad thing is that the guy left it parked outside for a few years and everything was rusted to the point it wasnt worth fixing. Wish I hadnt seen it in that condition.

I had mine out for a short ride today between rain showers.
Nice bike zokalr13. All that has been done on my '78, including a few extras. Frame bracing, tapered head bearings, stabilizer, fork brace, Lockhart oil cooler, smoothbores, Bassani, Progressive shocks. Nice handling KZ. Not at all like it was back in the day... ![]() ![]()

fine bikes everyone..its nice to know that I had no hesitation to ride this 35 year old thing back 300 miles from trading it off..[you know why] my friend did a nice job with the jetting and the new pipe and replaced many parts from a mint parts bike[which I got to pickup soon because the motor has 20k on it] as far as making it a better handling bike sure, but my next bike purchase is gonna be a ZX7 or ?? -this will be my daily driver -not the KZ ..I have now been enjoying my time off this summer cruising this bike around town and cant wait to get at it this winter for more resto work...

She's a work in progress, got out for a very short test ride and it ran like shit.. but that still makes it 100x better than it has for the last 12 years. It was my first bike, but really first love.

Just found an old video of me sprinting my 1075cc Kawasaki Z1000A2.......
http://www.youtube.com/watch?list=FL...&v=pRpe-G-2QXc Runs the 1/4 at 120mph in 11.5 sec... Not too bad for a 34 yr old bike |

1976 kz900
I had this exact same bike in the early 80's.(stored in my garage by a friend) Bought this from a fellow in southern Wisconsin this week who had owned since new and was always garaged. Runs fantastic and the sound of the Kerker on song is truly "soul moving". Changed the oil/filter and aired up the tires, went for a 20 mile ride and it is 1976 all over again... ...
