MIrror Lake Hwy and Strawberry are two of the most popular places so you'll have company. But they are only two places. Just get off the beaten path, or go further away from the city. On Mirror Lk Hwy you purdy much have to camp in a campground. But there are little roads going in all directions from strawberry where you can go camp and maybe find some peace. Or go check out the currant creek reservoir area. Or if you're up north head up into the mountains between logan and bear lake. I think somebody already mentioned that. -al

Well I chose strawberry. Took the truck way up squaw creek rd and didn't see another soul. I am camping where 110 and 518 meet.

From this map I found http://static.stateparks.utah.gov/ma...rySystem08.pdf I think there will be some fun riding really close. Yes for some reason I get really good 3G up here haha.

RR, I drove right past you and your camp Saturday morning ( yes I waved) in a silver Toyota Taco. It was a great weekend to be in the mountains. I didn't get to ride, we were hiking and doing some stream and pond surveys for the FS.

Oh sweet! Yeh I remember. At that spot I literally only saw 1 jeep, a side by side, and your Taco. That was it for traffic. I thought for sure it would be super busy but nope. I met a few other riders out on the trail. They told me about Motoutah. It really was a great day for me, I did most of the single track in that area including all of the center trail 009.
here are some pics.

The screen shot I took to guide myself.

Sweet drop tank!!!!! It must have droppen in the winter bc there was almost no damage. Would love to haul it out and make a flats car...

Some singletrack stoke

I had a great time! I love primitive camping and the cool temps up there. Was really nice to get out of SLC.

The spoils of tour...

...glad to be off the bike. did 1500 miles over 3 days of the twistiest roads in CA! I jumped on hwy 1 and fell into a pack of bullet bikers that taught me the joy of lane splitting We really need that privilege in UT. Call the governator!

The Herbernator just doesn't have that kind of pull... it would be awesome. I love riding in So Cal. Nothing like crossing the Bay Bridge splitting at 65 mph as you watch bikes blur by in the adjacent lanes like you are standing still.

No. We were doing a project to check for and count borrial toads, frogs, salamandars. Pretty easy; find the location, fill out the paperwork, take pictures and record gps. Also checking if there was water or not. There are so many in the area
not all can be checked regularly.

Great pics RR!

What was your route? I am wondering how much of that I've been on before, the twisted along highway 1 are almost good enough to be worth living in CA.
