He does some awesome work, but there's no way that's "cheap enough to attract young riders."

Production bikes not custom one-off
my brother builds an award winning bike for the ROCKERBOX BIKE SHOW every year here in milwaukee, but the janus boys are trying to start manufacturing a line of motorcyclers mainly built here in the usa....my hats off to them for being doers, and trusting their american ingenuity will make them succseed. i like what they said about these bikes being in the formative stage.....let's see what they come up with as an end result. btw, here is my brother richard's 1st. place rockerbox entry from last year. checkout this years bike show info here....http://www.rockerbox.us/

what a crap thread.
I don't think you get to claim made in USA motorcycle if the engine isn't made here. Frankly, I'd rather have the tubes welded together overseas, as it's been a long time (if ever) that Americans built production frames with the best of them. PS FLYING MERKIN RULES!

Would it blow your minds if I said that America is not the best?

Yes, we'd love to develop our own American-made motor over the next few years and are in early discussions with local casting facilities. For now, however, there really isn't anything available apart from Briggs and Stratton. Casting, whether of the hubs, forks or engine is definitely something we will exploring once the company gathers sufficient momentum and capitol. Great things start off small.
One of many great reasons for building things here in the States is not just quality, but the fact that even as a small company we are creating jobs in one of the hardest hit areas of the country; northern Indiana. Richard Worsham Janus Motorcycles |

not to be a dick, but how is that? if you need caps lock to see, can you read this? you can only read your posts, but not others? you can change text size with ctrl+ or ctrl - or whatever the hotkey for it is.
either way, the janus and the first bike are ugly, and useless.. tough to design a retro frame and put a modern motor in it. and not make it look cheesy. maybe the people who buy those whizzer copies would be fooled.... either way, fad bikes are a tough sell, most consumers realize that potential resale market is nil. i don't think retro boardtracker is the next hot fad. unfortunately i'm betting viragos and those other ugly 80's bikes make a huge comeback. some of the other bikes mentioned here were much more thought through.
