They actually run large, not small, so if you are an XL in other helmets you might be an L in these. But the best way to know is to measure your head and use the size chart here: http://www.atomic-moto.com/AFX-FX-39-Cheek-Pads.html You can PM me if you would like any additional assistance. Hope that helps. BP |

BT,
I can confirm what Brian posted...the best thing to do is measure your head. I've always worn a "Large", in the Arais that I've owned, and my FX-39 is a "Medium". .

I got my AFX-39 last Monday as a birthday gft from my wife. I accidentally on purpose sent her a link to Atomic Moto's site open to the page with an XL Silver.
I measured my head and was going to buy the large, but at a local dualsport event, I got to try a large and it was kind of tight and pushed on the back of my neck. I found a friend who had just purchaesd an XL and tried it. It fit good. I wear a XXL HJC CLX and thought I should get an XL, but measuring my head kept putting me right in the middle of Med and Lg. I couldn't even get the medium on. The Lg, as I said pushed into the back of my neck and felt a bit too snug. I missed the deal on Silver for $93 back in May, but my BD isn't till June. ![]() Free shipping just made up the difference any way. Thanks for the phone call Brian and your help with selecting. My only question is: Why so much strap? Who on this earth has a 24" chin. What do I do with all the excess that flaps annoyingly in the wind? I have it pulled all the way snug and there is no extra strap. Cuttin and remelting the end seems like a soultion. BTW did any one else get a huge chuckle out of the Chinese translation owners guide?

Re the strap.....my guess is that the helmet was designed for D-rings, and the quick release was added later. As such, the integration works, but not as well as if it had been designed with a quick release.
By the way, sunshields are like, totally sold out man. No resupply in sight. Far out, man, in both the literal and figurative sense. BP |

Here is a "real" cell phone picture. It is on top of my TourMaster Intake 2 jacket. It is kind of between a regular yellow and a hi-viz.

Thanks...but a bit of a disapointment. I ordered one as advertised "HI VIS" but it's actually just....ummm....yellow.

My buddy has the Fly Trekker in Hi Viz. It is freakin' HI VIZ. Sorry, he didn't ride today so I don't have a pic for you.

OK.....I read this whole post and have a question.
![]() Currently I wear a Shoei Hornet size Large that fits snug but comfortable as a proper helmet should, however a bit tight to remove. I just ordered & it has shipped (before finding this informative post!) an FX-39DS Medium as my head measures 59 3/4 and is round. So.....should I give it a try....or.....refuse delivery (FedEx) and pay for restocking ....and order the Fly in a Large? ![]() I know....it's kind of a subjective thing....Thanks |

Hi, I don't see on the Atomic moto website if you have stock of FX 39 Camo Marpat size S?
Not stocking the Camo editions? I have a Shoei RF-1000 size Small. 56cm head. Would the AFX FX-39 Small be good fit? Thanks. Dave |
