Bring filter skins, route 5 is pretty darn dusty. Just got back from a 4/3/south of 2/5 trip. Mutiple gps's and large spacing helps.

I may be interested in going. I have an XR400R with Giant Loop, 6 gallon tank, and Trail Tech Voyager GPS. Is your crew full already??

It's alive!

It finally happened, this thread has been resurrected.

Not sure where you found it at acesandeights but thanks for bringing it to life. Shame you won't have the time this year maybe next year you can make it out for a 10 day adventure ride.

Pigpen,
Are you back in town now? Just got the shop cleaned up and the lift is clear. That motors not gona rebuild itself

I'm sure we can make room...
Check the dates, we are hoping to leave Portland Thursday afternoon, and officially be riding from 8/24-9/2. Sounds like you got all the required gear for this trip. I would actually love to have your 400 for this ride but I am just going to have to suffer with the 530. Will you be able to upload the routes into your GPS? We will be using the trek now routes from sisters on. From hood river to sisters is the applejam show where we play follow the leader for a couple of days. After that I suspect we will be pretty spread out due to the dust.

We will have to get an official "IN" list going pretty soon

I believe I got a pack of three from motorcycle superstore. Completely covered at 1200 miles and probably should have changed it out on the trip, but inner KN filter on 690 was completely clean when removed. If you take more than one, just pre oil and throw in a ziplock.

rebuild

killowatt,
It's an xr650r, what's a few pieces of metal in the filter?
I'll be back monday the 23rd to start in on it!
I really hope it does not need a full rebuild though as time ran out from my trip to colorado springs etc.
It will make it! lol
