I am looking for some information. I have a ride planned that takes me through the Washington/Oregon area en route to California via the Pacific Coast Highway. During this trip I am gonna need some new tires. After doing some pricing on the Michelin PR3s in the area I found they are much cheaper from Motorcycle-superstore online then anywhere in the local area (but, still way cheaper than Canada!). I am just wondering, is there a place I can get tires shipped, then get them put on locally?? There used to be 'Mailboxes, etc' that you could send stuff to, but that doesn't seem to be popular any more. I doubt a shop would let me ship them there to be put on...

You can use General Delivery at the USPS if you can get the vendor to ship through the Post Office:

I buy tires from Motorcycle Super Store all the time, can't beat the deals. I mount my own but I did notice there is a link on their site for exactly what you are asking. You buy the tires from them (MCSS) and they ship to a shop that you select from their menu. Then you pay the shop to mount them. The mounting prices varied wildly and some were a bit pricey.

Good luck and Keep your tips up

If you know your route in advance, just ship them to an ADV inmate's house and they'll probably know the best local place to have tires mounted. If you you want to loop over to Eugene, we know things here...

Or they will even mount them for you for a beer or 3

I've had success in having motorcycle dealers get close to mail order pricing. Definitely reduces the gyrations required. Try calling them and giving them the opportunity.

And besides, then the tires will already be "broken in!"
