2011 F800GS with faulty tachometer?
2011 F800GS with 5500km has tach that shows ever increasing rpm's during a ride. I can get the needle back to zero by cycling the ignition switch on an off five or six times without starting the bike. Ride off again and ten minutes later the tach shows 7, 8, 9000rpm when it is really reving at 4 or 5000rpm.
Any one seen this? have not had opportunity to take it to the dealer yet. |

I had something similar, only it was the speedo. The dealer reflashed the software. I assume that means deleted it and reinstalled it. It fixed my issue.

Thanks
Wondered if it was that or the instrument or the sensor, guess we'll see...

I talked about your problem to my old driving licence instructor (now a friend of mine) and they are using F658GS as learning bikes. they had that problem once and they simply had to perform a software update.

Thanks Loutre.
I'll suggest the re-flash to my dealer.
