Welcome, and nothing goes together better than Landcruisers and F800's!!!

I am guessing what you are looking for is the small power plugs by your keys. If that is what you are looking for, then Powerlet is a good resource.

http://www.powerlet.com/products

CAN is actually a networking protocol used by several of the computers on the F8, as well as many other cars motorcycles and machinery. It stands for Controller Area Network.

It is a quite common mistake as I too used to think that was the name for the plug.

Welcome again, and hope you learn something off of here!!!

Thanks Ryan. I appreciate the help. I bought a new Triple Black this year and I'm still getting used to some of the BMW terms and lingo:) The site you posted is helpful for some other stuff i have in mind. However, what I'm trying to find is what I'll call an "accessory fuse panel" for farkles. Thanks again.

This should work, several others have used them and like them.

I was too cheap and bought a generic fuse panel from Orielly's, and wired a manual switch for it.

I will post up a pic of mine in a bit.

Well, on second thought, it may have been a better Idea to pay the $84....

Essentially how I have it set up:

Power from the bat to a switch on the dash, then back to the white wire connected to the bottom left of the fuse block, which is daisy chained to all of the other ports on that side. Then one feed runs back up to the dash to power my USB ports, and one runs to my SAE plug for my compressor. All that other carp is for the winch, which runs separate from everything else.

Did you say winch? Gotta see a pic, that sounds bad azz. Thanks for all the useful info. I spent the $84 bones. Now to unwrap the plastic and start hacking on some wires.

This might be a strange question but I couldn't find the answer in the search function so here it goes.

What's the deal with this canbus system?.. Is this a replacement system BMW uses for the old fuse box?
Does every f800gs have one or is this an aftermarket option..

I was looking into installing a hid conversion kit but do I need something special (except for the kit of course) or can this be installed on a standard f800gs

Thanks!
