GPS Selection Question About Uploading Routes

I'm planning a little trip to Utah in 3 weeks and was considering taking a GPS along. I'd like to be able to plan out a route on my computer, upload my intended route to the GPS, and have the GPS guide me along. Is this a fairly common feature on modern GPSs or is this a feature found only on some models? How can I tell if a GPS will do this?

Thanks!

Everything you need to know is found there, much of it explained in youtube videos for those of us with short attention span syndrome.
