Hey BobLoblaw,
Good question. The photos above show the pilots. We are working on V-Pilots as well. They are looking to be ready this summer.

Price Increase: Effective July 1, 2012

We hate to do it but, effective July 1, we will be increasing the price on our motorcycle luggage. We have kept our prices constant for many years but the increased costs for materials, labor and fuel necessitate the increase.

Our cases are of the highest quality. They are still an excellent value and priced competitively. Call before July 1 to order a set before the prices go up! (Prices on the website have been increased. Prices in the shopping cart remain low until July 1)

Rally Update
We'll be at the 40th Anniversary Rally of the MOA Club in Sedalia, Missouri, July 19-22. It's going to be a big one with terrific door prizes, music, and of course, shopping! Order at the BMW MOA rally and take advantage of free shipping! We will be selling our new product line, Excel Cycle Werkes, and showing all our luggage: Pilots, V-Pilots, V2s, Top Cases, Pack Racks, Backrests, Accessories and more.

Pilot panniers on my Rallye. I'm pretty stinking happy with how they turned out.

Top Case Rear Mount

I'm going to but on a Micatech top case but would like to know how much weight can I put in a case mounted with your rear mount setup? This is for an R1200GS. I'll not be using it to store my helmet or jacket in while I go into Starbucks, doesn't look as cool as bumping into everything and one while knocking stuff over

I'm leaning toward the big case but if weight is the issue I will be satisfied with the medium. The front mount makes it easy but I'm trying to figure out how much is to much to load not going overboard with the rear rack but understanding my maximum capacity. I also want to use the roof racks on my Pilots which is another reason I want to use the rear mount.

Hi Santa Rosa. Sorry for the delay - We've been busy with the MOA rally. Legally, we say that you should follow the guidelines for max weight capacity that are stated by the manufacturer. So that equates to about 3 feathers... That said, many Micatech users (including ourselves) pack way more than we ever should into the top box. We've loaded them up and gone riding on some long and bumpy trails! Unless you're carrying bricks or dumbells you should be OK. Feel free to send us a photo of what you plan to pack and we'll take a closer look. Hope that helps!

Two generations of Micatech

My 2011 BMW R1200GS was happy to have a set of 10" Micatech V2 cases:

A few months after these photos were taken, I had a crash in a snow storm in the New Mexico mountains and trashed the bike and one of the Micatechs (the right side one). Ouch. I walked away unscathed. I still have the left case and keep it as a memento of that trip. Anyone need a replacement left case?

Since then, I have acquired a new 2012 BMW R1200GS and put yet another set Micatechs on it, this time I went for the Pilots since my wife likes to take some "extra" stuff along on our trips...

Any regrets? Nope. Well... maybe one... I really, really, really wished I would have ordered the medium top case instead of the small. Anyone want to trade a small for a medium??? Great stuff!

Micatech, I just got a Rallye and I LOVE Gypsie's cases. Are those white or grey or what?

I want to order the same setup.

Thanks
Anthony

Love the look and craftsmanship.
