In GE in the "Places" pane, Right-Click on the top item "My Places" and select "Save Place As...". Direct this to your thumb drive. This will take ALL your stuff in one swoop! It doesn't matter if you save as KML or KMZ. With the thumb drive in your new computer, drag that file into the big GE display window. This will transfer all your stuff into GE on the new computer. You may want to slightly resort things once they show up in the Places pane. They can't stay in "Temporary Places". Now, next time you open GE on the new computer, your stuff will be there.

I had that happen with GE, "My Places" crammed resulted in GE starting very slowly. Moved "My Places" to another folder, problem solved.

When you say "moved my places to another folder" do mean another folder on your computer or another fold with GE?

I have probably the equivalent of 100,000 or more points (path points and waypoints) in my GE file. When I save it all (the WHOLE My Places file) in KMZ format, the file is 30 megabytes! With that, it used to take a half hour for GE to open. Then I did something like saved the whole thing, deleted it from within GE, exited GE, restarted GE, and reloaded the original file back into GE. Ever since then, my GE starts in about 30 seconds, even with a 30 meg MyPlaces file. So, there's something strange that happens that makes it load super slow when it gets big, but it can be fixed. I'm not 100% sure that what I described above is what fixed it, but when I was messing around like that, it suddenly worked FAR faster.

Another folder on the computer. I called it "My Google Earth", to go along with the theme of "My Garmin" "My Pictures" etc
