Without it your tank will be loose when you put it back together.

I agree with Aaron, looks like the spacer that hold the rubber mount for the gas tank. Now they come welded to frame.

How does your tank mount? Fit into two rubber mounting on each side?

Aaron - how you healing brother... hope all is well up there!

Hey Vic, etc,
I'm coming along pretty well actually. Still bummed I missed our vacation down there back in July. I may be ready for an easy ride in another month or so. Hopefully I can make it down for the New year's festivities with a bike. Take care!

Thanks for the response guys. The frame had about a 2" 'bung' sticking up from the top of main down tube where tank fits over and mounts w/ a single bolt. This "unknown part" will not fit over that-I tried. The tank also mounts w/ two rubber "guides" on either side of the frame- I did not check those but this looks too big for either of those. It was almost like it is a part to another bike or something else and had at some point fallen down between front of tank and triple tree area, then when removing tank and starting it, this fell out. Even so, I am surprised I did not see it as I traced and checked all wiring from front to rear, also cleaning those areas as I went along. Very weird...

Really did not want to pull the stuff back off last night-was tired but maybe I will take a break today and check again...

Check the tank side mounts. That looks like the part...

What about where the seat hooks into the tank post you talk about. Could it be that piece. Sounds too small...

Just thinking out loud and getting my post count back up....

Trot Thead Now Active

I went ahead and started a Trot thread....

With all the chuckheads scared off, and no one pissed about the war and no whellie vids its just plain boring on this thread.

Oh well, Trot is in the works

I -and I hope all of you - had no ill effects from Isaac so I m thinking about riding this weekend?

Anyone got Sat or Sun plan...?

Weekend? Blackwater?

Looks like we might get a good ride together this weekend.

I am open for either day. Several of you have not ridden the North East part of BW. Its very different from the Hutton area and other places south of HW4. Lots of challanging clay roads and water crossings.

Its a high speed type ride.... there is some pavement involved. I have a very challanging 75 mile ride a think all will enjoy.

If gas is an issue we can cut ride short.

Let me know what day is best for all...

Unlike Eglin lots of rain will make is sloppy.. but I dont see that as a problem this week...
