Just back from the Bull City Rumble in Durham. Had hoped to see Doug there but Spot still shows him west of Greensboro. Hope all is well.

Didnt make it to durham, galled up the front cylinder, seems it wasnt oiling enough.
don, (dlrides) and chris are helping me out. Biggest problem its a holiday weekend, so fedex may take a little longer. Once i find the parts.........

I'm root'n for you Doug. Your going to out do all them high doller muckety mucks by going full circle without a chase truck and I'm all for that! Just got back from Davenport where a few of the guys had to show off thier rides before hauling them east. Nice bikes but they can't hold a candle to your style. I plan on riding down on my 1940 Sport Scout to see everyone in Spirit Lake IA, let me know if you need anything and I'll see if I can bring it along. Looks like you got one of Land Sharks shirts, looks good on you too! Give'm hell Doug!

this was from yesterday, along the Nantahala river. most of that shit packed on the bike is camping gear. But, as the CB is mostly staying at fancy assed hotels along the route, I figured I would need it

Today I met up with Don, always good to see you dude, and thanks again for lunch :)

About 30 miles after I left Don (he rode along with me for a bit, but dont worry, I went slow enough so he could keep up)

Anyhow, the front cylinder quit working, so I one lunged it to the next exit, & Chris who lives close buy, was nice enough to come fetch me, so I could tear into it in his garage

front cyl had real low compression, so I pulled the cylinder, and this is what the piston looks like.
not pretty
so I burned up the cell phone airwaves, & a guy I knbow in West Virginia who is also doing the C-ball on a 101, said no problem, I got all the parts you need.
So I'm on my way to WV.

Breakdowns in the US are sure easier to deal with than in Siberia or Iraq!

OH in Siberia they could make you a new piston from Coke cans and coat hangers for rings.
