What scooter shall I add to my stable?

I currently have a Honda Ruckus 50 and a Stella. I like them both but the the Ruckus is a trifle slow and the stella is a little unreliable.

I need a scooter that can go 60mph,looks cool(I don't like the burgman look) and is cheap and reliable.

What do I buy-thinking about a Zuma125 but what else is there?

How about a used Honda Reflex 250cc? I've seen em go for under $2000 around here.

Most 125cc bikes, the Zuma included, are at their limit at 60mph.

Zuma 125 won't run 60 mph without some mods, namely the final drive swap and a 155cc big bore kit. You can get 57 mph with the 1 tooth larger final drive.

Not cheap, but Genuine Blur 220i or Kymco GT300 or Downtown 300 will do the job.
I would also consider a Honda Reflex, but they are getting harder to find.

For 2,995 plus tax you can get a new, left over, Aprilia Scarabeo 200

A new Sym HD200 is only slightly more than a new Zuma 125 and it will go 70+

Or you could get something completely different from the two scooters you have by getting a motorcycle.

The scooters already listed above will do the trick, from Reflex, Kymco, Sym, Aprilia, etc.

I'd be most concerned about how close you are to a good trustworthy dealer. The best scooter in the world is going to be a downer if you have to go 75 miles to get an oil filter or service (if you don't take that on yourself).

Chances are you have a Kymco dealer pretty close- If so I'd probably check out a People GT 200 first. If you have SYM nearby (less likely though) I'd go with an HD200 Evo for bang for the buck.

I wouldn't bother with anything over 250cc's based on your requirements, however, if your 'wants' change for something more, check out a Piaggio BV350 (again, dealer access considered)....

I did a ride in a group of scooters with one of these in the lead, another local dealer brought it out. We rode from the town of Cave Creek, AZ out to Bartlett Lake and back and it did well. Build quality looks decent, nice looking bike if you like racy styling, but will not maintain very high speeds. A few bursts to 55 / 60 but it is a 50 MPH cruiser. I of course was 2 up on a 2 stroke Stella....I spent a lot of time in the 20 MPH segment but on the downhills was pushing 65 on the GPS.

The Genuine Blur 220i is a great choice, under $4000 (depending on the dealer), will do 65+ solidly with a 240# rider (ME), and quality is really good.

Buddy 125-170i depending on how much speed you want. Since you specificially said you didn't like the maxiscoot style if you want something in the 250 range look at used BV 250, Sports City 250-300 or Scarabeo 200. Syms and Kymcos are also quite reliable in the 200-250 range for more or less traditional styled scoots. Of course finding a used GT or GTS would also be an option but even a used Vespa 200-300 is probably going to cost more than a new Buddy 170.
