Muchos Gracias!! I am finished packing and have a 6:30 flight in the morning. That means up at 3:30 Am to head to airport

But I am ready to get back to riding South America!!!

Just before 5 am on Tuesday September 11th. Sitting at the airport after my buddy Dave got up to drive me at 4AM. Thanks Dave! It is a reflective day more me as I restart the Adventure in South America, and also as I think about the Fateful day 11 years ago. Remember vividly waking up with my lovely wife, and watching the news as we were walking out the door to go to work, then hearing the details expand and the second plane hit while I was in the car.

It has changed our world in so many ways. So many suffered great losses that day, and it changed so much of our daily lives. Sadness and grief for all the losses.

Had been on the World Trade Center towers dozens of times. Hard to grasp that they no longer exist and it happened in an Attack on America.

My wife and I were in NYC less that 2 weeks after ..... Walked within two blocks and saw all the signs of people looking for loved ones in Union Square.




Lots to think about on days like today. Looking forward to sharing the road with you as I get to Quito, retrieve my bike and start riding south!

I have been following your inspirational story for a long time and am thankful you are sharing it with us. I tell everyone about your adventures and and the great stories and pictures. Have a safe flight and we look forward to more SA!

Mark, have an epic trip down yonder. I was able to visit a little with Sam between mouthfuls of prime rib at the Happy Trails Rally in Kamiah, Id this weekend and I'm sure he's thinking of you and wishing you the best of travels. He mentioned he didn't have much of a internet conn. where he was so had a hard time keeping up to date with your travels. Take care and don't drink the water. I'm ready for this to get going again. I'm also someone who likes to talk about what you're doing and I share the site to whoever will take it. I hope my wife doesn't notice that the yard isn't getting the attention it requires. Be safe my friend and keep our God close. I'll be including you in my prayers even though I'm eaten up with jealousy. As I write this, I suppose you're in the air headed south!! Can't wait for the picks of Terra Del Fuego and the Antartic.

As a fellow bald man, and not knowing you any other way, my first thought when I saw these photos was "Radioman with hair!"

It is interesting to see photos of people from when they were different than how you know them.
