It's basically the KLR milk-crate of wood heat... So cheap and simple, you don't know why everyone isn't doing it... As a cheap Yankee... I can't believe I don't have one now... For those that haven't seen one: it is basically just an air to air heat exchanger open to the indoor air... thermostatically controlled to run only when flu gasses are above a certain temp...

48 here in the Upper Valley at 5 AM this morning. Due to too many health issues going on in my house, I didn't get any wood this year.
I have about a 1/2 cord of really dry stuff and that is it.I don't burn as much or as hard as you do, but I do enjoy a good wood fire. There is nothing like it. I have a small Free Flow in the cellar that I run in the fall, weekends, and spring. I don't think it is going to get much use this year without any wood.

Maybe by the end of the year I'll un-crate my wood stove and install it.
![]() I could've been in long johns this morning. This time of year always gets to me- anything under 50 and I'm freezing. Fast forward to spring and I'll be in shorts and a t-shirt when it gets to 50.

I bought a pellet stove this spring. I'll have to install it pretty soon.
I don't have any wood for the wood stove. I'm going to try those bio-bricks this year. It's either going to be an easy season or a very cold one in my house.

I've heard of bio-bricks before but I have not seen them around here. Anybody tried them? Comments?
