We had one of those growing up on our furnace in the basement... I can't believe those aren't standard...

It's basically the KLR milk-crate of wood heat...

So cheap and simple, you don't know why everyone isn't doing it... As a cheap Yankee... I can't believe I don't have one now...

For those that haven't seen one: it is basically just an air to air heat exchanger open to the indoor air... thermostatically controlled to run only when flu gasses are above a certain temp...

48 here in the Upper Valley at 5 AM this morning. Due to too many health issues going on in my house, I didn't get any wood this year.

I have about a 1/2 cord of really dry stuff and that is it.

I don't burn as much or as hard as you do, but I do enjoy a good wood fire. There is nothing like it.

I have a small Free Flow in the cellar that I run in the fall, weekends, and spring. I don't think it is going to get much use this year without any wood.

I lit up the Equinox two nights in a row now.....................was cold out damn it! The only oil I am going to burn this year is gonna be when we are out of town.

Yeah.. Kinda looking forward to getting the big stove going for the year..

Only about .5 cords left to stack... as a matter of fact.. in honor of this thread..and because wifey-poo is getting her hair done afterwork

, maybe I'll finish it up tonight....

Chimney sweep called this weekend to set up a cleaning.. dude is like clock-work every year...

Maybe by the end of the year I'll un-crate my wood stove and install it.

I could've been in long johns this morning. This time of year always gets to me- anything under 50 and I'm freezing. Fast forward to spring and I'll be in shorts and a t-shirt when it gets to 50.

I bought a pellet stove this spring. I'll have to install it pretty soon.

I don't have any wood for the wood stove. I'm going to try those bio-bricks this year.

It's either going to be an easy season or a very cold one in my house.

It's finally cooled down here, only 90 today, bring it on down and warm up.

I've heard of bio-bricks before but I have not seen them around here. Anybody tried them? Comments?
