Anyone using a Garmin 62S ? dark screen.

Anyone using theirs on a bike ?
I am trying one out, but the screen is much darker than my VISTA, even on full backlight.
Maps are dark green instead of yellow. The 60 series has better map colour, more like the Vista.
Not impressed with the 62 so far but I like the button size better.

I like my 62s, and have been using it extensively (both recreationally and at work) for the last 3 years. I assume you've turned up the backlight?

I'm not sure what maps you're using, but compared to a 60, I find the map display better (not tons, but still better). I prefer the way a 60 handles tracks, but prefer the increased number of stored tracks and available track points with the 62.

But have you used it on a bike ? are your maps green or yellow ?
My backlight is full up, but still pretty useless on the bike with dark green maps.
The vista you can read anywhere outside in daylight.

Go to Setup/Maps/Advanced Map Setup and turn off "Shaded Relief".

Go to 'Setup/Display/Colors, (Mode and Setup) and make sure the Mode is set to 'Auto' and not 'Night'.
