That is a great looking bike. I've heard that the low and mid range torque is better than on the 2nd gen., is that correct? I see them for sale locally at some great prices.

Never rode a Gen2, they are too "sportbikey" for me....Low, and midrange torque, great handling, and ergo's are the best part of Gen1's IMO..

I've had mine for seven years.Despite what Gonzodog says about the Gen1, it's a great motorcycle. ![]() JK Gonzodog!

Good timing, I may soon be in the market for one of these. Any issues I should look for?

My 2002 was by far the best street bike (for me) I've ever ridden. Comfy, fast, handled great. Rode a Gen2 recently and didn't care for it as much. The Gen 2 was no where near as comfortable.

Sold mine to a friends brother-in-law 7 years ago. Same friend bought it from him 6 months ago for almost nothing. I rode it again for the first time in 7 years just two weeks ago. Still one of the best bikes ever made.

Ok, Gen 1's. Can anyone give me some details regarding the attachment points for the fairing? How is it supported, number of bolt points, etc? TIA.
