Well all I have to say is can it fit my old 19/17 woodys and what's the price? I'm definitely in.

I think its a rule. Bikes cannot get easier to work on, only harder. Plus, with all the newfangled electronic gee-whiz-bangs you didn't know you couldn't live without, I wouldn't count on it being easier to maintain.

But WTF do I know? I still want carbs on all my bikes!

i'd guess KTM is evolving the 990 ADV into a larger bike closer to & to compete w/ current 1200 ADV bikes. then releases a new smaller more off-road focused 750/800 v-twin bike that has close to the current 990 motor capability but is even better off-road.

the current 990 is always compared to the larger ADV bikes, so why not upscale and compete yet still offer better dirt performance and then release something to go head to head with the new 800 class.

seems 800cc & 1200cc bikes are the 2 classes to compete in anymore.

the other pic (black bike w/ the guy cornering) the front wheel looks like 21" however.

I have been reading about this a little. But the liter adventure bike is really perfect. I do not need 150 HP and my 300 EXC is the best dirt bike in the world. It seems like adventure bikes should be 50/50. I want to be able to ride 10 hours to someplace new, spend the night on the ground and ride dirt the next day. It seems like KTM has that wrapped-up with the 990. Why compete with the fat bikes? On the other end I would not mind a smaller displacement bike, but my Husky 610 SM was not ridable over about 3 hours and I always felt like I was abusing it on the pavement. (Very much fun that abuse was though.)
