Midnight and beyond...
the rain & cooler wetaher promised some water crossing & change out in the world of the unpaved, so I took the 950 up Campbells Creek to see how far I could go before it just got plain silly.
The shot below was with my crap cell phone camera, I think I 'll go back tonight with a tripod & real camera & take some better pictures.- the 260 watts of lighting I have here created a tunnel of overhanging trees, rocks and water- very nice! ![]() The GPS shows a single new track I'm creating as I go- NEW TERRITORY! ![]() Night riding has more deer out now- I had a couple of close encounters of the cloven-hoof kind last night. I think the Akro pipes on the 950 create a lower frequency they feel as much as hear- they are already getting out of the way when I come around bends most of the time- at least that's my theory. Anyone considering an HID conversion should know that I can see retinal reflections of animals WAY farther than other lighting, including my fancy PIAA haolgen bulbs in the KLR. With most of the HID light at a more concentrated wavelength of light, I can even see animals on the sides of hills in the trees- when they aren't looking directly at you! Pretty cool, and an added safety measure as we enter this fall riding season- it's bad enough in the summer

I'm guessing that's not a recent pic. Everything is too green.

Thanks, my sister lives in Kanawha County but anytime I am over we just drove around (my licence didn't permit bike riding then) - would like to plan sometime to explore further, but on a bike this time.
