Thanks Captain Obvious!
I am pretty sure he was kidding, making a joke of the obvious typo... at least I thought he was. I mean it isn't like an RSV4 where you would actually need 24 gallons to go 200+ miles on a tank.

If that is an early KTM wheel with the monster safety bead, as featured on my '04 950, then I am impressed. If not … meh. About average.

Looks pretty nice...for a street bike.
Too bad my next new KTM is going to be a 690 Adventure. What! You say KTM doesn't offer a 690 Adventure? I wonder what moron made that decision?

One thing I wonder about is now with the pipes going under and up one side is if the width has been narrowed a tad.
For those of us vertically challenged, a lower seat only went so far before your legs just stuck out to the sides at right angles.

Clarification please..
What is the suspension difference besides the obviouse clearance difference between the two models?
It looks like to me all i have to do to turn the non R into a R is add the 18 and 21 rims to create the same clearence as the R. But reading the description the non R has WP components vs The R reads WP suspension.. Can someone explain to me. I would like the best suspension but if it is only in the R then I guess I want the R. I like the grey non R version myself. I was thinking of just getting the 18-21 set up for off road expeditions. After KTM Producing the Dakar versions why drop the suspension quality down on these? Doesn't the Dakar versions have the same suspension quality as the 990r? Thanks, boulder

![]() Don't get me wrong the Adventure single is a super bike but, like the SE, KTM doesn't see a profitable market for it (them).

Upgraded suspension on the R well they think it is due to stickers on the R. I know the R always had upgraded suspension but the way the dakar was going its suspension (told by Dealer) was the same quality just not as tall. Thanks again. bd
