I've been shooting one for 3-1/2 years. It has been completely reliable and is the most accurate M4 pattern I have ever used.

I've never cared much for AKs, always thought they were pretty crude and clunky, but this one just looked right to me, the way an AK ought to look when coupled with a well-dressed terrorist ensemble.

By M&P 22 I assume you mean (not to be overly gun-geek/techie here) the M&P 15-22? They do look a something like an M-4, but are quite a bit lighter in weight, mostly made of plastic and lightweight materials. Lots of fun, though, and a decently accurate .22. Here's a pic of my girlfriend shooting one from a little over a year ago. And yes, I know, she should be wearing eye-protection. She does not always do as she is told.

Lighter makes it even better for me

The other M&P 22 is nice too (the pistol) but with that I might go for the "pro" model 9mm.

I would like a polymer IWI Jericho but my hands aren't strong enough for a double action trigger. One of the big things about the M&P pros is they come with lightened triggers among other features.

Here's my AR15 I built a few years ago. It's a CMMG lower with a 14.5" LMT upper. I have since sold the ACOG. Haven't decided what to replace it with. I'm thinking about getting a dedicated precision 22LR upper for it. Then I can shoot it more often.

Don't get me wrong I like the AK pattern rifles, but like the AR pattern rifles....they do get pretty stupid looking pretty fast....but whatever rows your boat.

Yours however is just perfect the way it is.
I put the tacticool stuff on my AK for a few reasons, aesthetics being the least of my concerns (obviously)

1. longer and adjustable stock. The warsaw stock was much too short
2. much better handcrip
3. no more burnination on the support hand

Wow. Crappy cell phone pic. I really need to learn the artsy fartsy world of proper gun photog.

The Daniel Defense finally arrived last week. Who knows when it will ever get shot. Hell, one of the XD/Ms has been in the safe over a year now and still hasn't been shot yet.

I thought this was just for black guns.

If we're showing handguns, I'll add my STI's to the thread as well.

If you go back to the thread-starter, CodyY, you'll note that he said "modern sporting firearms" and military inspired gear. He then started things off by showing a Springfield Armory XD. Not a military gun as far as I know, but certainly modern and possibly inspired by military weaponry.

And you can't be much more military inspired than a 1911......although one might question modernity given that it's a 101 year old design!

Nice handguns by the way!! I have an STI Edge that did yeoman service for me for a number of years, and many thousands of rounds, shooting IPSC.

You'll like the lightweight M&P 15-22 then, it weighs about 4# out of the box.

As .22 pistols go, have you looked at the Ruger SR 22? Small, light, does have a DA first-shot, but thereafter the action is SA. Decent accuracy.

I shot one a couple weeks ago from my buddy that sold me the sig 556. It was cool but way too plasticky. Kind of chunky too. Felt more like a toy than a weapon.

The rounds eject from the front. And they don't fly out, they fall out being pushed by the last one.

Cool I guess but not my style
