2010 Ducati Hypermotard; came with Mivv pipe, Power Commander V with AutoTune and O2 Optimizer, 44-tooth rear sprocket, and some spares and a special Ducati tools. I am just getting started on a few upgrades...decluttered the undertail, installed drag bars, probably will remove stock mirrors, and possible handguards/blinkers...

The fella selling the bike was very cool. Older road-racing guy lives just south of Atlanta that used to hang with guys like Mamola and Vesco. Restores old 70's era Kawasaki gauges with original parts for a living. Just turned 65 and didn't need this much power (he still has his Honda 599 in the garage). Had previously owned 63 STREET motorcycles over the past 50 years (not counting dirt bikes). Very interesting dude--will probably be at Barber's at the Vintage Races-hope to see him there. Glad I got to meet him!
Now thats a beauty. Not a day goes by that i miss my Ducati. Just wish we had the roads it needed to be on. That being roads with lots of tight curves...
Very nice bike Skid. There is just something unique about that Ducati sound, especially with some nice Terminoni pipes...
So is that the 800 or 1000DS motor?

Ballistic EV02 Battery

Just finished installing this little battery in the DRZ.
Bought it at R&R racing after noticing the original 4+ year old battery seemed to be losing its authority spinnin the engine over.
Charge was good on the old battery @ 13+ volts, but just didn't seem to have the muscle anymore.

This battery doesn't even weigh a pound (13.6 oz). Don't know what the original weighed but it was quite a bit more.
Wasn't a drop-in install because of cable lengths.
Should have made pictures of the process, but its too easy to bother explaining.
Took me a little over a hour after a trip to the automotive supply to get a bit red and black #8 wire, some connectors and heat shrink tubing.
A sanitary install and not a problem for anyone with basic skills.

Anybody planning to change to this battery in the future and find they need a few pieces/parts/#8 wire, contact me for some leftovers I have.

DRZ spins over like a BOSS now!

Battery Bikes

I have been predicting the takeover of battery bikes for some time now. These new small light weight batteries are another indicator that the next move in bikes if full battery power, silent, clean, and simple.

Varrrrrrooooommmmm with be a thing of the past...

KTM is operating a prototype electric m/c now, and there are a couple in the US, with a fair number of "homebuilts" on YouTube. I agree--it is probably coming. I am absolutely positive I will sorely miss the sound and smell of a well-running 2 stroke...

Scary because they can be as fast as a regular m/c with an IC engine, BUT SILENT. Not sure I like the idea of somebody coming up on me at Mach 2 in virtual SILENCE. I am wondering if they will have some type of fake engine noise...

198 pounds, 30-ish horsepower, 90 minutes riding time... ~$13,000
