One of the battery tab has broken on my beloved Garmin 76csx. Does anybody know if this is repairable?

GPSMap 76CSx
After a few years use my 76CSx needed attention and I opted for sending it in for refurbishment
http://www.gpscentral.ca/products/ga...ewlyoverhauled. It cost a bit but I found it worthwhile...you might find someone handy with a soldering iron can help you out..a simple dab of solder will do ya ( remember Brylcream?)... Best of luck yatman |

Had that happen years ago on old 76C. I just bent what was left in and probably shoved something under it.
You do have it hard wired on bike (dah) and it is USB powered on the desk so you really don't even need batteries with this unit.

I have been shoving the broken piece back in place and packing the battery compartment with foam ear plugs. It still works but I was hoping for a more permanent fix. I will try bit of solder and see if I have luck. |

Just to make a bigger bump to contact battery? That may help, I think I also streached coil spring at other end.
Big tip: Put little strips of black tape under each battery and on battery cover (just where it touiches batteries) so you can just get the lock to rotate and pinch batteries so they won't move under vibration.
