Monday Sept 24
Monday involved putting down the rubber floor mats in (under the guest room)
One of the lifts will be stationed there near the windows. The other part of the day involved building a lift . My little one wants to put his car on top of my lift .. so I built him a wood one. Ramps were made and top will be added this evening . Grading will happen tuesday morning. The last dumpster pull will be on Wed. Painter is sealing the exterior walls Wed morning and painting Thursday Moving is a pain in the ass.. but the more that is done the better the results for getting things put away .. plus getting my tool boxes in will be a plus.

How are you going to hang or store your tools? Did you say something about a metal peg board?

final grading
Grading is taking longer than expected.
The swell to be cut had to be deeper to follow the natural path of the land. The cut to the house had to be greater. Lucky we kept the large boulders. We expanded the opening to driveway and the 3 guys picked up larger rocks and moved them to the side. ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]()

fire pit
Since we will have extra rock we are going to build a fire pit.
Make a couple of benches or flat rock seats around the pit. Perfect for cool nights and making some mores. The garage is fully painted with two coats of exterior Dunn Edwards paint. Matched the main house colors. We also order 21 tons of 1/4 minus madison gold for ground over (dust nazi's wants the ground cover with 1-2 of stone) dust control. Pics of the painted garage vs the first day ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() We are still working on the interior. Bathroom needs to be finished exterior and interior lights will be installed in the morning

Stress crack in the main house
The tile is finished in the garage.
The tiler is the same guy who worked in the main house. I told him before he was leaving that the chalking was pulling away from the glass blocks in the Master bath. A quick visit by him .. showed the glass block wall bowing and shifting. The plumber who had installed the plumbing did not do a compacting back fill and the soils around that area shifted. I emailed the GC this afternoon and told him he had a problem... and that he should figure away to take care of it.. Plumber is coming out with a compactor and extra fill sometime this week. My job is to wet the soil so it will compact tightll. Always something happening when you build.
