Thanks guys. For what it is worth she hit me about 2 miles from my house so I guess it is true that most accidents happen close to home.

I swapped tubs yesterday and put the passenger body back on since I am taking the GS to our BMW club's rally on Thursday. When I opened the rear lid on the cargo tub I found out the lid was keeping tension on the side and keeping it square, with the lid open the side pretty much just folded in and I am not sure that the box can be repaired. I guess I will have to see what the adjustor says.

Insurance adjustor came by yesterday and settled with me on the tub so I guess it's time to build a new adventure tub.

I was looking through ebay for boxes this morning and first page had these:

http://www.ebay.com/itm/70-ALUMINUM-...50774894718%26

May have to go with the same design and fix a few things that I found that I should have done different. Sometimes you can get a do over.

Dang Dana, I missed this when you originally posted....glad you're OK, and you were going to work on that corner of the cargo box anyways!

Shades of my own accident......bad memories for me.

Yep, bicycle wheel.

Dom,
I had planned on fixing that corner but now it is unfixable since it is creased in a few places that won't ever uncrease. I can't believe that I found another truck box like the one I had so easily. I was more than agreeable with the insurance settlement so I just need to figure out if I want to go with a modified version of the same or try something different.

Dana, Glad to hear you are O.K. Also glad to hear you already have a plan for fixing the car. People are precious, stuff is stuff.

We are just starting to see the introduction of roundabouts on streets out here in Spokane. Amazing how few people understand how to get into and out of them, who has the right of way, etc. Scary actually.

Man do I feel silly, I spent a couple of months looking for a cargo box like yours and never ONCE did I even think abut looking on ebay.... Oh well, glad to see you're not hurt and have the hack on the way back together.. Yours has been a great source of inspiration for my own adventurous outfit. (especially since we have extremely similar cars)

Okay, enough flattery and thread jackery.... Looking forward to seeing advbox version 2.0
