Canada had the good sense to name their track after Canadian racing legend, Gilles Villeneuve.
Brazil had the good sense to name their track after Brazilian racing legend, Carlos Pace. The idiots in Texas named the US track after a huge land mass. Circuit of the America's? Retards. Those dumb fucks should name the track after Texan and racing legend Carroll Shelby.

he also said there will only be one DRS zone (11-12) which I was hoping for two. but I still think it will be a good track for passing even without multiple DRS zones.

Now lets see if they price it the same as F1. I'm guessing so. That and the fact that the limit camera lense size and prohibit coolers, even on the GA grassy berms, is a deal killer for me. I love the idea of GA, and would pay the $150 admission, but it rubs me the wrong way to spend that to get in and then have to buy $20 cheeseburgers and beers for 2 or 3 days.

I am going to book my hotel today for the motogp weekend and hopefully beat any price increase. Can any of the locals tell me what side of town the track is on and where there might be a relatively nearby cluster of cheapish hotels?
Thanks |

If you're not wanting to stay downtown, you might look at Georgetown, Round Rock and San Marcos. All are within easy driving distance. You might consider downtown, though. Austin is a great city with a really cool nightlife. The food and music are world class.

Well the Red Roof Inn in Austin has rooms for $516.66 per night for the F1 Weekend. Hope they choke on it!!
MotoGp weekend is still $59.99. Wonder if they would cancel and raise the rates later?
