Just dropped in to get an update on how people are liking their new Triumphs.
Maybe checking back later would be best.

For those who don't know, it's a Lada (Russian take on a Fiat).
No, I was working at the plant building these, and yes, it's me too

63 posts to the thread of a bike you could care less about yet you feel the need to continually come here and flog the participants with your flavor of "opinion". At some point that constant banter you bring is nothing more than a trollish approach to inject your garbage into this thread. You seem to relish in the constant little battles that arise every time you say something outlandish or what you are sure will get a response, pathetic. It is made even more comical when early in this thread you actually brought up Rema when in fact you seem to be acting alot like him...

And also amazing what I see here: Tigers stalling, not starting, getting paint bubbles on the engine, bouncing, ripping seat covers after 20 miles riding, ... it's not that Triumph that great a track record. Nothing big so far and that's good but quite a few small and not so small issues.

The Tiger 800 isn't an engineering marvel in any way. And you explicitly should know about them. The Tiger is good in comparison to the F bikes (which have about as many little niggling things as the Tigers), the Explorer still has to show that it's up to the task with the big GS.

What I'm explicitly referring to is someone saying the Explorer is an engineering success (which it still has to show, it's too new) and the new GS is an engineering failure - which is highly unlikely, as BMW has just too much experience with the big GS series to build something that doesn't work properly.
Never said the 800 was an engineering marvel. Only statement I made was in contradiction to your statement that people using and complaining about bmws were all overloading them and jumping The White Cliffs of Dover (exaggeration on my part). Bet the broken down ST didn't spit their rider off when the final drive FRACTURED whilst doing nothing more than riding on a smooth (ish) motorway. And as far as the rider was to be believed had never been on a rough track.

Oh & my 800 is a marvel. Never stalled, no bubbling engine paint. Just runs, needs fuel every 330 odd km and looks great in the rain - of which we've had a lot this year.
Personally the statement about marvels and failures should obviously be treated with a large dollop of salt.

Bimer are not alone with 30 year experience :-) But the new RR1000 kinda put that argument away.

Oh, wait, did I say I'm not interested in the Explorer? I actually was very interested in the Explorer, but I think Triumph didn't do such a great job with it so far. I'm not "flogging" anybody, but I don't like the BS being put out all over the place. Might be my problem or your problem, I couldn't care less about that part - so please, filter me and be happy.

Given that's what you worked on...I think you are entirely qualified to comment on GS' engineering

I don't get it. Ride reports, wheelies, mud, grime, Iron Butt days, destroy Tenere wheels,
Ride to Alaska with a broken leg, hit a cow, break my knee off, break my other leg,
but what does everyone remember? One stinking ass-less chap shot......thanks cug.
