Llamaha;

Some others like Highfive have done dyno-testing
http://www.wrrdualsport.com/tech-guide/dynotesting, but comparison is pretty much mute unless the pipes were compared on the same bike with the same Dynamometer in similar conditions and modifications; correct?

Fuel consumption (given it was mostly sand-based terrain) was pretty high, around 6 litres per 100km at race pace, so some of the longer (260km) stages needed the fuel I kept in a 4-litre Nomad rear tank mounted on the rear guard in addition to the 14-litre Safari tank I ran.

Dave.
Dave/Sequent;

Congratulations on your class win!

What tires did you run and what pressure in lbs/sq in. I'm having similar problems with sand. Would you have changed to a different tire make if you knew ahead of time?

This was its real downfall imo, thankfully there's no sand where I live now, for here it's the best bike ever imo!
mine was pretty much the same in deep sand, until I changed the gearing, much easier now. And by all accounts by those I ride with, I am the best by a significant margin in the sand. I am not saying that I am a great rider, just that of the guys I ride, sand is where I leave them in the dust... Single track not so much

Hi all,

I just tried riding a 2008 wr250r and was surprised I could just barely get the toes of both my feet down. I'm 5'8" with 30" inseam & was wondering if this sounds about right. The 2nd owner thought the bike was at stock height, but couldn't say for sure. Just eyeballing it, it appeared a little shorter than the bike I saw at the dealer.

Thanks! I was a little worried the bike would be too tall, but it felt all right. It's nice to know that I could still lower it a little more if I needed to.

I have a 30" inseam, and after doing the factory lowering (threaded out the shock clevis, raised fork tubes 3/4"), I get the balls of my feet down, and if I slide forward to the lowest part of the seat, flat-foot. I also weigh 225 lbs, which compresses the suspension more than a lighter person would.

Question head gasket

Anyone know if the Athena 290 head gasket is the same dimensions as the OEM gasket?

Just noticed that I lost my right side cover sometime in the last week. :( and it was the one with my DrCool sticker on it. Now I need to figure out if I want a new colour or stay with stock blue and white.
