New rider in Perth

Hey folks, finally decided to get my licence and bought my first bike not long after. I was originally thinking on buying a 2nd hand VTR250, but then decided to splash out and go brand spanking new and bought a 2013 Honda CRF250L. Admittedly, I havent done as much riding yet as I would have liked, took it offroad for the first time (Rockingham Offroads) messed up and wound up dislocating a shoulder and cracking a rib for my trouble.

Soon as I heal up, its back to the lessons, once I have my RE licence and get better on-road, I am going to learn how to handle the dirt and sand better.

Since I was a little bloke I always wanted to do the Canning Stock Route and Birdsville track on a bike (Blame the Leyland Brothers for that idea lol) so i already have a target to aim for down the track.

Cheers

Welcome to the madhouse. That 10 litre tank won't get you too far down the Canning, you might have to throw a coupla litres in your pack as well. I hope that little Honda is a good thing, I pick mine up on Tuesday.:

Hopefully wont be too far into the future before aftermarket gear becomes available for the model. I am looking into the CRF range to see if existing equipment is compatible (And roadworthy).

Being my first bike, I have nothing to compare it too, but i like it. The boys at Rockingham Powersports all had a go on the shop's demo bike when it came in and where grinning ear to ear when I asked them about it. The common word they all used was "fun".
