Camping on HWY 140 West of Denio Jct

I am heading out to Crater Lake on Saturday. Are there any camp spots off of Hwy 140 in the Sheldon Natl Wildlife Refuge? I'm looking for something west of Denio Junction...maybe 10-30 miles west of Denio??? Anyone know of anything out there in the middle of nowhere? Thanks!

Bog Hot Springs

Thanks for the info. A few links from your site and I found this:

About 4 miles off of HWY 140. 13 miles west of Denio Junction. Perfect.

Looks like a great spot!

I'm glad the links helped. Have a great trip!
I'm riding out to Boise this weekend and I've got a week to explore on the way back.
I think I'll probably head to the Owyhee - and then ???

Bog Hot is a good spot. Stop in DJ for a burger. Also, the shakes at Fields Station up to the north in Oregon are world famous.

Take a look at the Ride Reports in my signature for some pics of Bog Hot. We were there both years. We staged from Denio Junction and it has good food, fuel, and motel rooms with showers. Works well for me.

Here is their phone number: (775) 941-0171 Ask for Bobby or Maria.

Have fun out there.

With smooth sailing and the time change at the UT/NV border, we ended up in Denio Jct around 3:00pm local time. Had a big burger, gassed up and headed west on 140. Ended up staying at the Mud Flats (USFS) campground at the top of Warner Canyon, about 20 miles east of Lakeview, OR. It's remote and it's free! It didn't feel like it, but we did 615 miles the first day out!!
