At least Duquette had a great eye for develop-able talent. Right now they got nothing in the pipe or the horizon.

Bobby V is Bobby V. You know what you get with him. You get a manager who is slightly out there, loves the spot light, and can draw attention. All the BS about how he didn't care drives me nuts. The guy now holds the record for most games thrown out of. He called out players who weren't pulling their weight. This is a manager who at one point in his career got kicked out of a game and put on a fake mustache and gave hand signals from the crowd. The dude cared. Working/ playing in Boston sports can go one of two ways. You are either loved and a legend, or you are hated and run out of town. What makes Boston sports great/ horrible is the bipolar nature. Fans are erratic. Look at Tim Thomas from the Bruins. Won a Stanley cup, put up some of the greatest numbers in NHL history, had a pretty good follow up year, but was a scape goat and run out of town. Bobby V didn't stand a chance. The fans hated him before he even unpacked his suitcase.

Or anyone else. Following up Tito was a no-win situation for any manager, unless they won a world series right away. Not happening with Lucchino's team. If only the kid had been left alone to do his business.......................

oh no, the worst case scenario was worse than that, and they got close; i mean, by mid summer they had beloved and well respected players whom they were planning on building the franchise around (pedroia and a-gon) portrayed as scheming manipulators. sheesh.

To add further insult to our injuries, Tito will be managing the Indians. Now even the lowly Indians will be kicking our butt too. Oh hey, maybe Sparky wants to come to Boston? We can light candles, hold hands, moan about and conjure him before each game. Could not do worse.

This is a good move I think

I have always liked Farrell as a pitching coach and I was dissapointed to see him leave for the Jays. He seemed to have a steady and balanced hand at the rudder, something the club needs. There are some key players around since Farrell left that know him, know his style and I suspect respect his coaching. Time will tell I guess.

No, not that Trixie

Farrell might be able to handle Larry- he's had some time with the organization, although that was with Theo at GM...

![]() Now you have to find another player to fall in love with, deluding yourself that he cares about you and your fair city 0.00000000001% as much as you care about him.
