Nathan comes back to NZ, Christchurch has earthquakes...

I'm not saying there's a correlation, but you do the maths.

I tried to take the earthquakes with me by going to Aus. Hey, don't look at me like that Aussies. No one is going to notice if a few kangaroos fall over slightly more often than they already do.

You stayed behind and doomed us all, Nordie. For shame...

Well, I just killed two days on this mindless dribble. My wife is glad the rides over. She is sick of hearing about OZ.

Seriously, this was a good one. Thanks for taking us along. This is one of the few reports on here that draws you in, reading it becomes an adventure just to finish the damn ride report.

And that was a filthy carb. You should be ashamed of yourself.

He is.

But down south, everyone plays the banjo, so he blends in.

edit..................on sober second thought, I am sorry Nathan, I know I should not encourage him!

...but the "banjo" thing was just too much coming from someone who decorates his front yard with car wrecks!

I challenge you to a banjo duel! My two-finger style versus your six-finger style.

Once, I answered an ad in the newspaper about a room for rent. The front yard was full of rusted cars on blocks and one XT225 Serow with a roughly-done camo' paint scheme and ape-hanger bars. A mountain of a woman answered the door. She breathed with a nasal whistle and turned and walked to the room like a refrigerator being manhandled down a narrow hallway. The house was damp and dark, and the room-for-rent was piled high with old newspapers. Mountain Lady informed me that her son lived in the house and he didn't take to kindly to strangers. That's when I heard the banjo.

I poked my head into the living room and something small and sharp smacked me in the forehead. I flinch and rubbed my forehead. On the moldy carpet was a brown and broken tooth with spittle still on it. In the darkest corner of the room, a man sat in an old brown La-Z Boy strumming a banjo. He had six fingers on his right hand. "Pick up my tooth," he said, "I need to put it back in 'fore one of them rats gits it."

............so I take it the XT225 Serow belonged to the six fingered NordieBoy.........wonderful image of the Nordie residence you charmed with your eloquent wordsmithing. You are the god!

Cry

I laughed...

I cried...

I held my breath in the pensive anticipation harkening to that of a schoolgirl waiting to be invited to her first dance...

I ignored the hell outta of my beautiful girlfriend for three days to spend every free moment reading about the trials, tribulations, and radical lefty opninings of a skinny, pale kiwi, with questionable hygiene(on the road at least)...thank you...

I've owned a KLR for a month and my mileage pales...PALES in comparison to yours. I clearly need to stop wasting my life and step up my game.

Oh....and I can't believe no one has commended you on your choice of on the road reading materials...Robert Jordan Wheel of Time? The only way I could top that would perhaps be with the DragonRiders of Pern.

Good luck with the book, I look forward to reading your next RR, ride safe
