Identify this old Exhaust system???????

So, any idea's what pipe this is ????? It's off a Kawasaki Z1 / KZ900







No markings that I can see

Thats a Jock Kerr. The worst exhaust and parts manufacturer ever, Made loads of noise and buggered your bikes performance. The only saving grace was the comedy factor of your mates swerving all over the road behind you when the baffle was fired down the road when the securing bolt inevitabley fell out. Throw it in the back of the garage as a 70/80s curiosity. I had them on a Guzzi V50 and a Morini 350 many years ago. They were pretty common on Kawasakis in the Midlands, I'll see if I've got any pics kicking about.

They also offered a nylon "blank" piston kit to turn your 250 into a 125

70's/80's, they did a sleeved down conversion for the 400/4 that took it to
250cc. The head was untouched, so the combustion chamber was mushroom

I had one, flat on the tank, 11,000rpm, in 4th or 5th, (can't remember

I was on my way to a new girlfriend's place one night when the baffle blew out of a MAC 2:1 on my hot-rod R100. When I left her place very late that night/early morning, every light in the neighborhood came on. I heard later that many of them thought we were under attack.

I'm still laughing about it almost 30 years later.

If you were in the states I would say it is a MAC. Had the exact muffler/baffle on my CM400 exhaust. As said previously....hideously loud, kind of a sharp buzz sound at high rpms...only performance increase was a severe loss in weight (boy were they thin).

Haha I have a MAC 2-1 on my XS500, not thrilled either. Compared to my old 2-1 (not sure of brand, Hooker? S&S?) the MAC had awful ground clearance, was heavier, and was more restrictive yet LOUDER. I pulled the baffle and fabricated a straight flow core wrapped in fiberglass packing, a huge improvement in sound (quieter and less blatty) and power. The only reason i dumped my old 2-1 was because it was rusting through in multiple places and I was sick of clamping on old beer cans
