Great pic, Jeff !! The temperature up at Ebbetts Pass the other day was pretty close to what your picture looks like
But down in the lowlands it's still hot

Hi John, thx for the invite !! beer and Panga sounds awesome
We still are undecided if we should go to Baja or through the mainland .
1600 KM of hot desert ... and riding 2up on an overloaded bike would keep us away from a lot of the nice but sandy places...
How long will you be down there ? I'll let you know as soon as we make up our mind

The delta and Locke

The other day, Doug took me to one of his weekly dinner with his bike buddys . They have had this weekly dinner for 10 years now, and they try to change the restaurants as much as possible, meaning that sometimes they have to cover quiet a distance in order to get there . Anyway, that night they were going to meet at a diner just outside of Sacramento.
We went in Dougs truck and he took some small back routs through the delta , what a different and beautiful countryside !!!
We stopped in a small place , called Locke. A town build by Chines immigrants long time ago , with interesting wooden construction and something like a living ghost town

And Doug, as a good contracter as he is , could not resist and he had to try to fix this building

Pick your poison Julio. Either hot desert in SoCal, Arizona and northwest Mainland Mex, or hot desert in Baja. There really is no good way to avoid the heat. At least its cooler than it was in September.

with gas prices shooting up to $5/gallon right now, you might want to sneak over to Nevada and Az as quick as you can!

Late October/ early November is usually pretty nice in the low deserts.

I just rode the Baja Last week not to hot or unbearable It is cooling off..... 94 degrees today in La Paz... My opinion is that the Baja is a much more attractive way to head south and the Ferry is always a Adventure ...I had a boring ride north from Alamos, Sonora... I think the worst leg on my recent trip in Mexico.....Just my 2 cent's worth....John

Golden Gate

Today we rode over the Golden Gate, felt really good

Blue sky, air force jets flying back and forth in formation above the bridge...we are so lucky
