Jesse panniers for a GSA sidecar

Gotta give credit where it's due first.
Got the idea from an inmate here named Dude69.
He has a GSA with the Jesse Safari 115 (low pipe) and Quick-Click mount.
He modified the right side pannier to hinge on the front, thus allowing full access to the pannier.

What I did was call Jesse Luggage and order a set of panniers with the hinges on BOTH panniers mounted on the front.
They showed up this past Monday and I just finished getting them installed today.
Mine are the Safari 110 (high pipe) with the Odyssey II mounts.
Here are a few pics of them installed.

Jesse Luggage was easy to deal with and very accommodating.
A big thanks to Alycia for answering all my questions and to Al for making the panniers special for me.

That's about it.
Just wanted to let people know that there are vendors out there that will listen to the needs of customers and make adjustments to help them out.

Sweet. I like that idea. If the lids go all the way forward, do they clear the bike?

Lots better than the car side bag opening onto the car.

Yes the lids clear the bike.
Because the hinge is slanted, the lid kinda pivots away from the bike the further it's opened.
They also stay up by themselves and there will be no need for a limiting strap to hold them.

Like I said before, Al Jesse was easy to deal with and I'm sure he would do it for anyone else as well.

I kept the ones off my KLR and modified the mounts to fit. Basicly all I had to do was cut the lower mounts a little shorter and mounted them to the foot peg bracket.

Do they fit with the sidecar mounted?
Didn't see any pics with them and the car.

Looks good Eric. We have never done that with the aluminum panniers we make but it is a good idea..

I was looking to just make it EASY on myself.
I liked the BMW aluminum panniers OK, but they were stuffed with the additional tools I carry for the chair.
These have tons of room and with the front hinge, allow access to the entire lot.

Some of the pics on the Flicker showed it with a car, but with different panniers.
He probably took it off and is using it as a solo as you said.

Those are some nice looking bags..My Happy Trails were done on the right side only,sure helps getting in that bag...The original owner did it with a piano hinge...Makes a different...
