The $1100 difference makes racers think twice about entering a pro class. Especially solo racers that don't have a chance of making the podium. I wish score would make an ironman class and let us race against each other instead of teams.

You can't split all the different costs of racing when you're doing it solo. I'm starting to feel the difference even from when i raced it with a team of 2.
Ironman, with a lower fee would be a great addition. Plus everyone would be together at the start line so you get to meet and greet those who you are really racing against.

The 2x rider will be one to watch. He has a fake foot on one side. Elective amputation due to so many MX injuries. He's a bit of a legend as Emievel (sp?) over on P4x4.

Chris Ridgway! He competed in the 1K last year, and also competed in The King of the Motos. He is an amazing talent, and a nice guy too.

There is also a rider on that team who lost his leg at The Mint 400 back in the early 90's. Mario Panagiotopoulos. He was the first amputee to finish the 1K solo in a car. Now he is on a team full of Bad Ass MF's riding a bike.
