If you stay in the mountains of the mainland it's really not that hot. And the roads are twisty and fun. The only time I have melted is when I head to the coast. Enjoy the ride

You are right about that Deb , but I have been all over the northern mountains already ; there are still lots of nice places to see there, but still...I've never been in Baja.
I've been many times to Oaxaca and we always rent the same efficiency apartment there(home cooking) If you are interested I can send you the link
Ride safe

Julio, just be advised: http://www.score-international.com/r...TION/2012.aspx Pre-running has started.

The week leading up to the race and during the race, places to stay and gas can be hard to come by. However, that said, if youre there for the race its a great time. The race is going through Gonzaga and Coco's this year so if you get there a few days early, camping on the beach at La Beluga in Gonzaga is hard to beat. San Francisquito is another great camping option, but there's not really much there when you run out of supplies.

Heck, I might even ride down with you if I'm around.

Thumb San Francisco

OK, about time to upload a few more pics . Last Thursaday I went to San Francisco with my personal tourguide Doug to pick up Luisa from the airport .
We went into the city early , so that Doug could give me a great tour of the city before heading out to the airport .

It was really great to see all this out of a truck, driven by a local who knew his way around. I could have never seen all this in such a short time by myself on the bike !!! Thanks Doug
You got to be familiar with the local traffic and the local way of putting up traffic signs

Exactly ; and today I will do it again, I have to go back in the city to sign some documents at the Italian Consulate.
But today it will be without my designated driver and tour guide, Doug

Kayaking

One of the many fun things we have done this last week, was kayaking on one of the local rivers. Doug dropped us off at one point and waited then down river for us . It was really nice, and unlike as at the river floating in Alaska, this time I managed not to break anything and to stay out of the bushes
