Has anyone ever stayed at the Bears den Campground?
http://bear-den.com/ If I am reading their rate schedule correctly tent camping is $35 a night yet a cabin is only $65...I am always on the look out for campgrounds with showers to throw into the mix. |

I live near Bears Den and this time of year ( full leaf watching in effect) you can rarely get in there without a reservation. Its a decent place, but it is more in line with the RV crowd. If you just want tent space then the NPS campground at Linville Falls or Price Lake on the parkway is the best bet. No showers, but beautiful setting with water and restrooms. There are a couple other commercial places just off the parkway ( Grandfather campground or the KOA in Boone), but this time of year make sure you have a spot before you come.
