The joy of spontaneous point and shoot has it's drawbacks..esp on a bike when they get shoved in to a tankbag.

It's been an expensive lesson.

I used to take a cheapish bridge camera on bike trips but recently blatantly copied a friend who is similarly rough on gear and got an Olympus TG1.

Waterproof to 40 feet.... shockproof to 6 feet... crush-and freeze-resistant. The only thing it doesn't have is the superzoom telephoto; on the positive side it's small, charges internally from a USB cable, and seems to take good pictures.

My last trip was a disaster as I had to come home after 1 day due to a family emergency but the few pics I got seemed good to me.

Just catching up here. Belated Happy Birthday. LOL on camera problems. I really mess up near a whole days pictures a few months ago due to a bug hitting my lens while taking rolling pictures and never noticed it. And, very laspe at checked the lens till I saw the pictures on my laptop that night. Sheesh!

And this was after trying to clean the picture up a bit in Pacasa.

Hey! Thanks!!
Ya, met 2 awesome ADV guys in Bend and Madras who saw me pretty stressed.
Ended up being a fried stator.
I haven't got to that part of the story yet, but it's def next.
They caught me in phase 1 & 5 of 'now what??'

Was a pretty awesome reminder of how cool motorcycle folks can be and what a remarkable site ADV is.
That day ended up being looooooooong……

Hey Peach! I have not 'tuned' in here for a long time... just checked in and read a few pages worth to catch up on some of your current travels. New Tiger!

Still have mine, love it, no plans to ever get rid of it. Might even add another Tiger to the stable some day, mad love for the Tigers here too.

Happy belated BD!
