I been busy today..coy and I drilled out the busted engine mount bolts in the block..two bolts the drilled walked on us and not center drilled

The bolt on the bottom looks good and centered..no heat on any of them tho. Easy out won't budge em..all are soaking in PB blaster over nite..we think that the two top bolts will require time certs as it looks like (we cant tell anyway) we may have gotten into the threads on the bottom side of the bolt holes...I may use a dremel and see if I can grind away some of the bolts in the think..and I am pooped!

Very interesting. I fly an L-4 now, but waiting on a 407 training date. A hot rod it is, but I prefer the A-star. Great machine, and very simple to operate from the pilot's viewpoint. Mx is someone elses problem, but most mechs seem to like them. Hopefully our paths will cross on the back roads some day. I will be the idiot going to fast on a DR650.

Great for you Elvis 70, I like the 407 cockpit due to a little more room and the speed. I like the L4 because is is just like putting on a glove when you operate it. The A-star has a good following but I don't have any time in one. Did fly the SA-315 Llama with 100' long line hauling explosives and Bambi buckets. Great sling load machine and good at altitude in the mountains. Never got used to the "backward" rotation of the rotor system and having to grease the machine every fuel stop.

Look forward to meeting you down the road. I will be the guy on the XR650L laying on my side in the dirt.

I worked for Shell oil doing geophyiscal exploration in Wyoming back in the early eighties. They had at least 12 helicopters on site, Best I can remember Bell Jet Rangers, Hughes 500D and Aérospatiale Llama's and Gazelle. Lots of fun and good memories sure do miss those days.
