That's what I remember reading too, but I'd have to go back and check for sure. He was still getting hot audio even after making the adjustments.

he should be able to build a resister "T-pad" to lower the audio that goes into the radio.
I have to do this for my some of my ham radio gear at home. I run some behringer rack mount audio equipment and need to lower the output to match the input of the radio.

Just for an update if anyone was waiting like me, Sena finally released a DIY cable for their SR10 - SC-A0116

I plan on purchasing this and using the special plug I already purchased from Yaesu, making a plug to interface my SR10 to the Yaesu FTM-10R/FTM-10SR ham radio.

Are you the one who was using the VX8 with bluetooth? I just was reading about it but not sure if it uses just HFP or both profiles (might be a unique profile that don't follow any standards also). Wonder if that system would connect to the SHM10? Problem is you still would need to use PTT if you were running phone and/or intercom.

I run my VX5R with my SR10 and it works pretty nice, but I really need to work on a better antenna because currently the HT lays in the tank bag with the antenna twisted around so it fits in the bag

Yeah, you could definitely add in some sort of external antenna and get it to work better.

I currently have an FTM-10SR with the BU-1 BT chip. Same BT chip that goes in the VX-8. BTW, I also have a VX-5 myself.

Anyway, I don't have the SMH10 (yet), so this may or may not be the same. I'm using the older Scala Q2 which is HFP/HSP only. The problem I ran into and my main reason for buying the SR10 is that once the radio and my headset are paired, the connection stays open. Basically the same thing as being manually connected to someone in intercom mode or like never hanging up from a phone call. I can use the button on the side of the headset to trigger my PTT on/off on the radio just fine, but "live connection" between the two devices stays active. So it drains your battery on the headset and you can't do anything else but talk on the radio since its priority one on the headset.

I have never seen a straight answer if the BU-1 supports A2DP or not and if it would work better directly then how the Scala Q2 works?

Just got my sr10 today, and here is a diagram on how i have gotten things to work.

Still waiting on the FRS radio wire to get here, should be here on Monday.

NO mater how i tried, i could not get the iPhone to play nice with being paired to sr10 and the G4. It would connect to both, and play a2dp music through the g4, but the second the sr10 broke in, the iphone would disconnect from the G4 and never reconnect unless i told it to.

the g4 mobile phone button, and the latest sr10 firmware pass phone control all the way to the iphone, seri works and i can take and receive phone calls.

Audio was good, http://isorg.com/pic%27s/scala_g4-Se...-Voicecall.WAV

I have ran a cable from the audio jack on the iphone to the aux jack on g4. and this way i can get my music!

I will test more on Monday when i get the FRS radio.

Awesome.

My understanding is the iPhone doesn't like sharing its BT connection between 2 devices? It might work better if it was jail broken, but you are probably better searching iPhone forums to get a better answer on that.

Not trying to talk you out of the G4, but with Sena's SMH10 and v4.0, it now has 2 HFP connections and 1 A2DP. So basically what this means is you could connect your iPhone to the Sena SMH10 for both phone calls and music (and have full control over your music using the jog dial), and using the multi-point pairing, the Sena SR10 could connect to the 2nd HFP connection on the SMH10 for the FRS radio and anything else you connect to the SR10. This is basically how I have mine setup, except I have an Android and I have 2nd work phone that stays paired to the SR10 for phone only. It works great that way.

I started out with the Scala Q2 and the SR10 which did work, but eventually got the Sena SMH10 and love it. My Dad also just moved from his Scala G4 to the SMH10 as he was having trouble getting his GPS and music A2DP transmitter to stay connected reliably to the G4 at the same time. His music was always disconnecting. Its working great on the Sena for him.

My iPhone is jail broken. Tried a2dp only settings to g4. Didn't have much luck.

That's strange then. You might be running into the same thing my Dad did with his G4 with the music not wanting to come back after the other device kicked up.

SM10 vs SR10

It looks like Sena has two modules for different purposes. The SR10 is for hooking up a two-way radio, while the SM10 is for stereo music. Most riders I know like to listen to music, then talk on the radio to other riders as needed. It seems, Sena should have combined the functionality of both units unless they are trying to force riders to buy both. Even then, not sure how you would configure them.

while going through the thread, I find that most of you are using the portable two way radio whether midland or any other brand. Has any one tried to use the SR10 with J&M CB http://www.jmcorp.com/SeeProducts.asp?PF=38

Hmm, if I want voice prompts from GPS which would I use? I BT iPhone to SMH10 for music/phone. Thanks
