Hey DD, you need to get current! We don't hang out at donut shops anymore...we're at the Starbucks.
At least here in California...

I was at Thunder Mountain and the guys were stopping and crying the blues. Some got mandatory appearances because of excessive speed. 85 in a 45.

I would like more pictures, please.
And I enjoy the Dragon as often as I can. Far more fun than you'd expect from such an overblown reputation. Now I shall have to seek out the Snake next summer, when I ride for the mountains and relief from Flatistan..

I was there the last Monday in March, lovely time as far as crowds go. There were just over a dozen bikes in the parking lot at Deals Gap but the photographers were still out. I will admit to being impressed by the couple riding 2 up on a Ducati in full race leathers with sliders. Even more so when they pulled off their helmets after one of their runs and saw that both were somewhere in the mid-late 50s. Far more aggressive than I'd ever consider on a bike (back in my 20s in my sports car, yeah I might have been that aggressive but I like to think I've gotten past that now.)
Anyway, lovely tree color in those shots. I don't know if I'm going to have the change to do any fall color photography this year or not since my trip to Oklahoma where I was going to tack on a couple days on the Talamina and up the Ozarks got moved to mid November. I suspect all the color will be gone before I get to go. |
