Lobster Run - Puerto Nuevo, Baja California Mexico = 2:35 length

Hey guys, what do you think about this video I made documenting a dualsport ride from San Diego, CA to Puerto Nuevo, Mexico to eat fresh caught lobsters?

What do you think of the length, footage, editing and/or song?
I appreciate your thoughts and advice. I'd like to create better and more entertaining short riding videos.

Watch in 720p

Yea!

Remember those days in the early 90s. Thanks for the refresher.

Excellent B1. I would have never found that in the Australia section ha. I always like hearing others tips and tricks. I appreciate the link. I mainly take my GoPro on organized rides and just shoot what I can when I can then edit it from there. I'd like to pick up another camera or go on some rides where I'm more dedicated to filming. I use the videos for ride reports.

You guys seem to have a good stock of footage. I've typically made my ride report video then trashed the footage. It's not a bad idea to stockpile footage and it makes me think I should do a "Best Of 2012" or something like that. I also noticed the video you posted with the picture of the girl has a large # of views haha.... horny dirtbikers ha.

For me to get where you're at, I'll have to stop and play with the camera more - not a bad idea in my book. Thanks for the link and good read.

So far here is my best example of a stay and play video (still far more POV than you guys) - http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=2pRK467eOyQ

btw B1, do you mind if I share your tips thread?

no probs at all, glad if you can find some useful stuff in there.

i used to trash footage too then always regretted losing various bits. got a huge external hard drive now. its a bit tedious, but i found it useful to put various tags in the video file names before i started editing e.g. "mt buller-pete-ktm-300exc-wheelie". so a year later if pete asks for all the footage of him, or i want a random wheelie vid, then i can just do a search on the hard drive. i tend to film in five to 20 second bursts so each bit of footage is pretty much about the one item so easily filed away. and makes editing easier too.

bit of footage from yesterday's ride below. wouldn't mind upgrading to the gopro hero 2 so i can film at 60 frames per second in high definition, as the slow motion looks like crap on the older model. but i didn't want to drop the definition to get the 60 fps as we were lifting snapshots of the girls' jumps from the vid to make some photos. the girls were getting some pretty good air! it's only their second time on an mx track...

Just a crazy Finnish guy on a dirt bike

Maybe he's a participant here? THAT would be some on board video! Gives base jumping a whole new twist: http://www.wimp.com/crazyguy/
